ATTORNEY LAWRENCE D. SCHOTT has over twenty-eight (28) years of legal experience, specializing in divorce and family law, probate, guardianship, wills, trusts and civil litigation. He received his undergraduate & graduate educations at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Honors in 1987, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1990. Mr. Schott is an active member of the Florida Bar, and continuously in good standing since his admission in 1990( FOR OVER 28 YEARS!). He is also licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for both the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Prior to starting his own firm in 1995, Mr. Schott worked for 2 South Florida law firms specializing in insurance defense, both of which afforded Mr. Schott a wealth of hands-on courtroom and full litigation experience in the course of his defending insureds which included major airlines in cases arising from mass casualty airplane crashes, cruise line accidents and other admiralty cases, as well as huge multi-national corporations involved as litigants in a wide-variety of highly complex, multi-million dollar litigation. Mr. Schott was born in Huntington, New York, but has resided in South Florida since 1983. He currently lives in Weston, Florida with his wife of 24 years, Robin, and his daughter, Sophie, and their dog, Stanley. He loves the beach (which he can almost, but not quite, see from his office…) or just being outside and enjoying time with his family in the year-round beautiful South Florida sun, warmth and weather.
